Lilith Winkler-Schor is a researcher, community developer, and creative based in Los Angeles. Her multidisciplinary practice revolves around deep inquiry, dialogue, and reflection to promote places of belonging, opportunity and joy. As a doctoral student at UCLA, she examines the theory and practice of how urban planning can address past racial harms through developing creative and relational practices. As a practitioner, she works with clients and community groups to incorporate research methods, engagement, and arts & culture to develop place-based strategies for advancing equity and belonging. As an artist, she explores how place and time intersect with personal and collective identity. She believes creative approaches to civic issues can support us in reframe values, which shifts collective culture, and ultimately help bridge the technical and interpersonal gap to allow for holistic systems change.
